On 9 th January, the SPP Winter Meeting took place in Berlin at the Landesvertretung Baden-Württemberg, with over 50 representatives from 16 sub-projects in attendance. Prof Fabian Bamberg, the programme coordinator, extended a warm welcome to all. Dr Carmen Steinborn, representing the project coordination team, provided updates on recent activities, followed by presentations from each sub-project’s representatives presenting their latest progress. The keynote lecture, titled “Vom ‘Medical Need’ zur Innovation am Patientenbett – Neue Wege in der Medizinischen Translation”, was delivered by Prof Ralf Kindervater from BIOPRO Baden-Württemberg. He emphasised the challenges of medical translation and stressed the importance of collaboration among stakeholders. The meeting concluded with insights into upcoming events from the programme coordination team and a summary by Prof Bamberg. Attendees also enjoyed networking opportunities during the evening event, fostering deeper discussions on scientific and non-scientific topics. Check out the Radiomics website for a full recap and explore the event’s picture gallery. The presentations given are available for download by members of the sub-projects in the website’s designated members’ area.

Following the Winter Meeting, feedback was gathered through a survey.
Attendees rated their satisfaction, on average, at 4.53 out of 5 stars.
Six out of sixteen survey participants identify themselves as Early Career Researchers. |
Overall, respondents expressed a clear preference for holding future meetings in person. This was closely followed by a desire for a mix of physical and virtual events. Interestingly, no respondents indicated a preference for purely virtual meetings.
Roughly one-third of the surveyed partners indicated willingness to attend gender equality measures, whether virtual or in person. Another third expressed no interest, while a few remained undecided.

We thank all participants for their valuable time. Your input, suggestions, additional ideas, and feedback are sincerely appreciated and help us tailor our activities to your needs.
