EVENTS

Summer School 2025 for Early Career Researcher

The third SPP Summer School took place on July 24-25, 2025, at the Caritas Tagungszentrum in Freiburg, bringing together fifteen Early Career Researchers for an intensive workshop on "Scientific Communication".

Led by Sven Daniel Gettys, one of the creators of Science Slam, participants explored storytelling techniques, presentation skills, and strategies for making complex research accessible. Highlights included voice and body language training and the entertaining "Worst Talk Contest" to identify common presentation pitfalls. An evening networking event provided the perfect opportunity for participants to connect and exchange ideas.

The workshop equipped our young researchers with enhanced communication skills and valuable connections across different sites.

RÖKO Lunch Meeting

On May 28, 2025, the SPP coordination project hosted a networking lunch on the sidelines of this year's RÖKO congress. The informal meeting brought together twenty members of our community, including collaborators from RACOON, as well as guests from related and independent networks.
An ideal occasion to connect across projects, explore potential synergies, and strengthen
existing ties. The lively exchange among participants once again highlighted the value of such informal gatherings for our research community.
